There are a number of reasons why your speakers are not working on your laptop. Make sure that the volume is turned up. Some models have external controls that need to be turned up. Also check the Volume controls and make sure it is not muted.
Pressing the FN button at the same time as the Page Up button or the Up Arrow will raise the volume level. This may change depending on your computer model.
Try updating your audio drivers. Go to the Acer website at http://www.acer.co.uk and then entering your Acer model.
Next, click on the Support link at the top of the page and then Driver and Download. This will bring you to a page with a list of drivers specific to your computer model. You should also put in your operating system to make sure that you get the right driver for you.
